Four hours in Fukagawa and Monzen-Nakacho — the part of Tokyo we walk every day — combined with the work of local craftsmen. The same guide stays with you throughout, and takes your photos.

■ About this area
Fukagawa was built on reclaimed land in the Edo period, as a town of craftsmen and fishermen. The old place names and the way people live here have largely stayed. It was never turned into a tourist district, which is exactly why ordinary Tokyo is easiest to see in it.

■ Where we walk
・Fukagawa Fudodo — a working temple where locals come daily, and where the drums of the fire ritual are loud enough to feel.
・Tomioka Hachimangu — the birthplace of professional sumo, lined with stone monuments carved with the names of past champions.
・Kiyosumi Garden — a quiet Japanese garden built around famous stones brought in from across the country.
・We can also go further, to Kameido, the Edo-Tokyo Museum, or Toyosu Senkyaku Banrai.

■ Optional experience
・At an Edo Kiriko workshop, you cut the glass yourself and make one piece to take home. Kiriko has been made in Tokyo since the Edo period and is one of the city's signature crafts.
・Around ¥9,000 per person, charged at cost.
・Subject to the workshop's availability.
